The last day of the Anoka Fiber Works lease was January 31st, 2025. By mid-January all the vendors had packed up their spaces and all that was remaining were chairs, tables, and empty displays. Saturday, January 18th was the last day that the shop was officially open. Even though there was nothing to buy, people still came in all day long to enjoy one more chance to gather. At AFW there was such a strong community of teaching, learning, support and friendship. It was heartwarming to see AFW friends exchanging contact info to stay in touch.
Even though AFW is closed many of the AFW vendors are still in business. You can see the list of vendors on the right sidebar of this page. Please continue to support them through their pages on this website and visiting their websites if their page contains a link. We thank you for the years of support you showed all the AFW vendors.
Many of the AFW vendors will be selling their wonderful products at the Shepherd’s Harvest Fiber Festival either in their own booths, or as part of the AFW booth. Shepherd’s Harvest will be held Mother’s Day weekend, May 9th (classes only), 10th and 11th, at the Washington County Fairgrounds in Lake Elmo. Shepherd’s Harvest, 2025 will be the final event for Anoka Fiber Works. We hope you will stop by and visit with your favorite AFW vendors to see what is new.
At the Festival there will also be demonstrations for spinning, knitting, weaving, and felting. In addition, there will be sheep in the barn, sheep shearing, dog herding demonstrations, and shopping throughout the fairground.
